Heritage & Traditions Saturdays & Mondays - AM
We drive across Shk Hamad Bridge into Muharraq Island to visit the Showaiter Traditional Sweet Shop, where you will savour the famous Bahraini Halwa & taste the aromatic Arabic coffee. We then head for the 17th century House of Shk. Isa Bin Ali (the ruler then) .We make a short stop at the Dhow Builders, where the traditional fishing dhows are made. The tour concludes with a visit to the 14th century Arad Fort.
Islamic & Historical Sundays & Tuesdays - AM
Tour begins with a visit to the Al Fateh Islamic Centre, the largest mosque on the island In rout to the National Museum we visit the impressive Qura'anic House which houses one of the oldest and rarest manuscripts and scrolls of the Holy Qura'an.
Ancient Delmon & The Arts of Crafts -Wednesdays - AM
Our quest for The Land of Eternity Delmon begins with a visit to the Barbar
Temple which was believed built in dedication to the God of fresh waters under the earth, known to the natives the Delmonites as God Enki. Traveling back in time goes on only to land on the unearthed ruins of the 4000 years old Saar Settlements. Coming back to our present time, we visit the Jasra Handicrafts Centre, in there we will meet the locals at work the likes of basket weavers, potters, textile/baskets weavers, and other traditional handicrafts makers.
Afternoon Tours from: (1500-1800hrs)
Bahrain/Saudi Causeway Saturdays & Mondays - PM
No better start to the tour than paying a visit to the imposing Bahrain Fort, with a foundation dating back to the 2800 BC. We then make a short stop at the Camel Farm. Tour continues all the way to the King Fahad Causeway that links Bahrain with Saudi. On the causeway we will have this opportunity to enjoy the fascinating view of the sunset not mention the panoramic view of the Bahrain/Saudi borders from the 62- meter high watch tower.
Desert Mystique - Sundays & Tuesdays - PM
We head south into the desert seeking the Tree Of Life, a 400-year old tree existing in no man's land! We then head for the Oil Museum & the First Oil Well, in the gulf region right at the foot of Jebal Dakhan. On the way to the desert we will visit A'ali village, home of the Traditional Pottery Making & last but not least, we make a short stop at the Royal Tombs that date back to the Delmon / Tylos(Hellenistic) era.
The Areen Wildlife Park – Thursdays - AM / PM
We drive south heading for Al Areen wildlife park, an 8squre kilometers sanctuary for more than 500 species of birds & animals; the likes of Oryx, gazelles, Tortoises, Ostriches & many more for the afternoon tour and if time permits, we will pay a visit to the A’Ali’s Village Potters.
The Moonlight Desert Camp (on request)
Indulge yourself & experience the charm & tranquility of the Desert Sakhir at night. There in the open air a BBQ Dinner will be served with soft refreshments.
